The Guilt of Idle Systems

Now there is a strange feeling when nothing is running in the background through an AI agent.

Because a new habit has quietly formed: there is always a process running, always a system working, always something “alive” in the background. Not because there is actually something that needs to be done.

When it stops, an empty feeling that resembles not doing enough. Even though nothing has actually changed and mo progress is blocked.

The only thing that changed is this: the illusion of productivity that stays constantly on. We start measuring ourselves not by what is finished, but by what is still running without us touching it.

And at that point, productivity is no longer about output.

It becomes about guilt when the system is idle.
